Admissions Experience
The educational process at Denver Academy begins with an in-depth analysis and evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of each student. We want to understand the entire family dynamic in order to create an individualized education plan that will be responsive to the needs of the student. Therefore, a series of discussions with the family and the prospective student is an integral part of the admissions process.
An outstanding department comprised of the school’s admissions director, experienced counselors and other academic specialists is involved in the entire assessment effort. Each of these individuals bring unique talents and abilities to this critical phase.
Our admissions team brings experiences that include teaching, coaching and parenting to the process. They conduct a comprehensive review of your child’s profile which helps them understand the student’s prior learning pattern and study behavior. Frontline teaching experience brings to this process a true understanding of key issues and provides a credible liaison with the faculty and the family.
During the assessment phase, the applicant’s learning style, skills and potential are evaluated carefully. Academic testing and transcripts are considered and prior teachers, counselors and administrators are often consulted.
